Looking for my next
opportunity
to make a change.
The artsy way.

This is me

ROBERTA PARDO

My education includes FAAP (Fundacao Armando Alvez Penteado) in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I am a native of Brazil with dual citizenship, and have lived in Maryland for the last 23 years. I spent most of my youth traveling the world and can speak 6 languages. Prior to focusing on art and advocacy, I was an international horse rider and trainer, competing for my native country at the Pan-American Games, World Championship and in numerous international competitions.

Currently, I resides in Severna Park, MD with my husband and three children.  For nearly 10 years, I have been a strong and effective advocate for diversity, human rights, education, and women’s empowerment, often using ART as tool of communication.

I start conversations
about the importance of caring and how to build a stronger community.

believe in the importance of diversity to build a stronger community and I believe that caring is not a choice but a responsibility.

In a society where we prioritize the needs of an individual over the needs of a group as a whole, where everyone has an opinion but few take the time to listen, where we are too busy to learn about the ever-changing cultural and generational rules, the need to understand what is different is becoming crucial in order to not become  judgmental.

In the era of Social Media, information comes to us in a fast and furious way. Unfortunately, the understanding behind that information is often poor, or non existent, creating confusion and fear. Discrimination of all forms comes from the same place, fear of what is different and ignorance of what is new.

How do we cure fear and ignorance?

First you acknowledge it.

Then you educate yourself!
