I believe in the importance of diversity to build a stronger community and I believe that caring is not a choice but a responsibility.

Diversity should be appreciated and celebrated not just tolerated. We, as a society, should learn to be curious and open minded towards our differences and the unknown. This is the only way to avoid discrimination and being judgmental.

Unfortunately, in the fast-pace life we live, where information come to us in a record time, who has the ability to absorb it all? Not many. Social Media is increasingly being used as the main information source. That is why the misinformation that is intentionality or unintentionally spread throughout the social media is so damaging. Fact checking today became an often opinion-based thing instead of, as the term suggests, based on checking the facts. And the so called trustworthy information that most of the time comes from a single source, is basically an opinion and not a fact.

It is important to critically evaluate the information we receive but most importantly, we should open our minds and our heart to different ideas and opinions and not politicize them. I heard somewhere that "Constructive engagement across political divides is a precondition for democracy. If we can’t talk with each other, we can’t govern ourselves as a nation – it’s that simple." What a powerful statement.

I am not here to discuss your political points of view! I am here to educate you on the importance of diversity and kindly remind you that we all need to care for each other if we want to create a healthy and progressive society.

Strong communities are always evolving. Their members learn from each other, they adapt and become stronger together as they confront tough circumstances. They support creativity and innovation. They value education. When the members of a community are always evolving, the community itself progresses as well.

This is where diversity plays an important role. Diversity creates an ecosystem that fosters creativity and innovation. Diversity brings different perspectives and ideas together, which is absolutely necessary to adapt to our changing world.
